Revenue
Sales · the “top line”
All the money a company brings in from selling its products or services, before any costs.
How it’s calculated
Revenue = price × units sold (added up across everything it sells)
🏢 For the company
It’s the size of the business, how much demand there is for what it sells. Growing revenue usually means more customers or higher prices.
👤 For the investor
Watch the trend over several years, not one number. Steady growth is healthy; flat or falling revenue is a warning. But revenue isn’t profit: a company can sell a lot and still lose money.
